Alongside hands-on product development, I’ve worked closely with commercial, design and ops teams to align delivery with go-to-market strategy. I’ve also advised partners on modernising engineering culture, reducing technical debt, and simplifying complexity - a principle that underpins much of my work.

I lead the evolution of Griffiths Waite’s product development function as the company scales towards its strategic ambitions. My role is to define and deliver a technology strategy that accelerates growth, embeds innovation, and drives measurable client outcomes.

I align engineering, platform, architecture, QA, and UI around a unified product vision, ensuring pace of delivery without compromising quality, maintainability, or value.

Key responsibilities:

Define and drive technology strategy and the product roadmap.

Champion AI adoption, automation, and cloud-native practices.

Lead cross-functional teams across engineering, DevOps, architecture, QA, and UI.

Improve delivery capability through technical leadership and process refinement.

Reduce technical debt and increase system scalability, reliability, and maintainability.

Maximise the commercial effectiveness of technical teams.

Act as Griffiths Waite’s technical voice in client and industry engagements.

This builds on my prior consulting experience with GW and my track record as a founder/operator delivering SaaS products and scaling lean teams.

Eject

Founder & Director

I took a step back from full-time position as CTO at Eject late in 2024 due to personal circumstances. I support the team where I can and enjoy seeing it continue to grow and succeed despite my absence.

Eject is building next-generation API development tools with the mission to enable anyone to create software. I led engineering and partnerships, providing expertise to teams building complex applications.

Apex Loops Ltd

Managing Director

Dec 2018 – Present | Remote

Apex Loops operates dancemidisamples.com, established in 2008 as one of the first online providers of MIDI-only packs for music production.

As Managing Director, I oversee strategy, operations, and digital product management to keep the business competitive in a crowded online music market.

Clearabee

Head of Engineering

May 2021 – Jul 2022 | Birmingham, UK

I joined Clearabee to improve the delivery and scalability of technology products. I thoroughly enjoyed my time building out the technology team at what is an innovative and fast-moving scale-up.

Key contributions:

Restructured development into cross-functional product pods with individual sprints.

Introduced a QA function and formalised review, testing, and CI processes.

Built a company-wide design system with the brand manager, ensuring consistency across applications.

Enhanced developer experience and onboarding, reducing setup friction.

Implemented continuous delivery pipelines across projects.

These changes enabled Clearabee to transform its customer-facing applications and scale development effectively.

Griffiths Waite

Senior JavaScript Technical Lead

I led the company’s first greenfield React project and introduced new development practices across the organisation.

Achievements:

Built a mono-repo spanning API (Node.js) and UI (React).

Created shared API/UI libraries and internationalisation strings for consistency.

Defined shared schemas, models, and types across the stack.

Delivered an automated, versioned build and testing pipeline.

Developed a platform-agnostic UI component library grounded in design system principles.

Snoozle

Chief Technology Officer

Snoozle pioneered the “micropodcast” format, achieving multiple App Store and Play Store chart successes. Highlights included:

Global fan engagement campaign with Liam Payne & Roman Kemp (Dec 2020).

I managed all technology delivery, covering Node.js and React Native development, DevOps, and data visualisation. My breadth of experience enabled the small team to deliver at speed and scale.

Joined Lightbox during its growth phase and played a key role in helping it become one of Birmingham’s recognised digital agencies.
